Waffle Stitch
Also known as: Waffle crochet
Alternating front and back post double crochets to create a grid of raised squares that look like a waffle. Thick, cozy, and deeply textured.
How to Waffle Stitch
1. Row 1: Dc across.
2. Row 2: *fpdc, dc, fpdc, dc* repeat across.
3. Row 3: *dc, fpdc, dc, fpdc* repeat across.
4. Repeat rows 2-3.
💡 Pro Tips
The waffle stitch uses a LOT of yarn — about 30% more than plain dc. But the texture and warmth are worth it. Great for dishcloths and blankets.
