Camel Stitch
Also known as: hdc in the third loop, knit-look hdc
Half double crochet worked into the third loop (the horizontal bar below the top loops), which pushes the top loops forward into a knit-look ridge.
How to Camel Stitch
1. Find the horizontal bar just below the two top loops on the side facing away from you — that's the third loop.
2. Yarn over, insert hook under that bar only.
3. Complete a hdc as normal.
💡 Pro Tips
In rows the ridges form on the side facing you; in rounds every round looks like knit stitches.
