Herringbone Half Double Crochet

Also known as: hhdc, herringbone stitch

A half double crochet with a twist that leans each stitch on a slant. Rows of it look woven, like herringbone fabric.

How to Herringbone Half Double Crochet

1. Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch, pull up a loop and straight through the first loop on the hook (2 loops remain). 2. Yarn over and pull through both loops.

💡 Pro Tips

Pull the loop through in one smooth motion. Turned rows give a zigzag look; rounds give an all-over slant.
