Basketweave Stitch

Also known as: Basket weave

Blocks of front post and back post double crochets that swap places every couple of rows, so the fabric looks woven like a basket.

How to Basketweave Stitch

1. Work a row of dc in a multiple of 8 stitches plus 2. 2. Rows A (2 rows): dc in first st, *FPdc around the next 4 sts, BPdc around the next 4 sts*, repeat to the last st, dc in the last st. 3. Rows B (2 rows): dc in first st, *BPdc around the next 4 sts, FPdc around the next 4 sts*, repeat to the last st, dc in the last st. 4. Repeat rows A and B.

💡 Pro Tips

Thick and warm, and uses more yarn than plain dc. Keep the posts loose so the fabric does not pull in.
