Alpine Stitch
Also known as: Alpine
Front post double crochets worked into the row two below, between rows of plain stitches, building a deep raised mountain texture.
How to Alpine Stitch
1. Work a foundation row of dc, then a row of sc.
2. Next RS row: *FPdc around the dc two rows below, dc in the next st*, repeat across.
3. Work a row of sc.
4. Next RS row: *dc in the next st, FPdc around the dc two rows below*, repeat across — the raised stitches shift over.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 from the sc row.
💡 Pro Tips
Use a solid colour so the texture shows. Thick and warm — budget extra yarn.
