Half Double Crochet
Also known as: Half treble crochet (UK)
Slightly taller than single crochet, creating a fabric with more drape. Has a distinctive third loop on top that some patterns use.
How to Half Double Crochet
1. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch.
2. Yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook).
3. Yarn over and pull through ALL 3 loops at once.
4. One half double crochet complete.
💡 Pro Tips
The third loop creates a unique texture. Working in the third loop only creates a knit-look fabric. Turning chain counts as 1 hdc.
