Also known as: Treble crochet (UK)
One of the most popular stitches. Twice the height of single crochet, creating an open, drapey fabric that works up quickly.
How to Double Crochet
1. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch.
2. Yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook).
3. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops (2 loops remain).
4. Yarn over and pull through remaining 2 loops.
5. One double crochet complete.
💡 Pro Tips
Ch-3 at the start of a row usually counts as 1 dc. This is the go-to stitch for granny squares.
