Broomstick Lace

Also known as: Jiffy lace, peacock eye

Loops pulled up and slipped onto a large knitting needle, then worked off in groups with single crochets — a vintage lace of twisted loop clusters.

How to Broomstick Lace

1. Pull up a loop from each stitch and slip it onto a big needle (19 mm or so). 2. Insert hook through 5 loops together, slip them off, yarn over, pull through and ch 1. 3. Work 5 sc into that group, and repeat across.

💡 Pro Tips

Keep the needle under your arm or in your lap so loops do not slide off.
